This work is a representation of the Asian mythological creature "Kyūbi no kitsune".
The concept art belongs to the artist chanin suasungnern (https://www.artstation.com/chanins)
In this case, my work consisted of completely texturing the low poly character of the High poly and the concept art but stylized, something more cartoon.
In my first place I made the highpoly bake to project it in the low poly, which were:
-Normal maps.
-Curvature map.
-Map of Bent normals of object.
-Map of Ambient occlusion.
In Blender I started doing a blocking of materials.
Separating and assigning all of them along with their normal map.
Little by little I was texturing through nodes, help me from the curvature and / or normal maps of objects to obtain different gradients that marked all the details I needed.
Also apply different materials to the same object, sometimes using alpha masks, as in the metal protections (belt and shin guards) as in the rope or the sword.
Adjust all materials for roughness, specularity, metallicity,
I also hand painted details such as mustaches, makeup, lips, eyes, among others.
Finally adjust the base color of some materials and bake the maps of:
-Base color
-Metallic
-Roughness
Import the Low Poly model into Marmoset and load all the maps in their corresponding places, further adjusting the necessary parameters.
Create and place all the necessary lights with some small tints of color to give more atmosphere.
Finally adjust the camera parameters, post production effects and rendering.
voila! already done.
I hope you like it!
